About this treatment
Body contouring at Halden House means non-surgical treatments that reduce small pockets of fat or tighten loose skin. Controlled cooling targets fat cells, which the body then clears over the following weeks, and radiofrequency heat is used to firm skin on the abdomen, arms and above the knees. Neither is a weight-loss treatment.
Good candidates are close to a stable, healthy weight with a specific area that does not respond to exercise. We measure and photograph at the consultation and are straightforward about what is realistic. Results appear gradually over eight to twelve weeks, and many areas benefit from a second session. Some clients are better served by a referral to a plastic surgeon, and we will say so.
Your consultation for body contouring is longer than most because the details matter. We take measurements and standardized photographs, talk about your weight history and routine, and check the area for anything that would make treatment unwise, such as a hernia or reduced sensation. If the area is mostly loose skin rather than fat, we may suggest radiofrequency tightening instead of cooling, or both in sequence. You leave with a written plan that includes the number of sessions we expect, the total price and the date of the twelve-week review, so there are no open-ended packages and no surprises on the invoice.

Is it right for you
Honest about fit.
Body contouring suits people near a stable weight who have one or two areas that will not budge: the lower abdomen, flanks, inner thighs, bra line or under the chin.
It is not a substitute for weight loss, and it will not change loose skin after major weight change. If surgery would serve you better, we will tell you at the consult and suggest where to go.
Expectations
We would rather under-promise and have you notice your jeans fit differently in three months than show you a before-and-after that does not look like you.

The timeline
Slow, by design.

01 · Week zero
Measure and plan
Photographs, measurements and a written plan. We mark the area and explain what you will feel.

02 · The session
Cool, then rest
The applicator is placed and you read, work or doze for thirty-five to sixty minutes. A short massage follows.

03 · Weeks four to twelve
Gradual change
The body clears treated cells over time. We review with photographs at twelve weeks and decide on a second round.
Questions
Asked at every consult.
- How much fat does one session remove?
- Studies often describe a reduction of around 20 percent in the treated layer after a session, but individual results vary. We show you realistic, illustrative expectations at the consult.
- Is it painful?
- Cooling treatments feel intensely cold for the first few minutes, then numb. The area can feel tender, numb or tingly for a few weeks afterwards.
- How soon will I see results?
- Changes are gradual. Some people notice a difference at four weeks; the review with photographs happens at twelve.
- Are the results long-lasting?
- Treated fat cells are cleared by the body, but remaining cells can still grow with weight gain. A stable weight keeps the result.
- Who should not have body contouring?
- People with certain cold-related conditions, pregnancy, or a hernia in the area are not candidates. We go through your history at the consultation.
- Can I exercise after a session?
- Yes. Most people return to normal activity the same day. Some tenderness or numbness in the treated area can make intense workouts uncomfortable for a few days, so listen to your body.
- Will I need more than one session?
- Many areas benefit from a second session about eight to twelve weeks after the first, once the initial result has settled. We decide this together at the review, using the photographs and measurements taken at your consultation.
- What does the price include?
- Your written plan lists the number of sessions, the areas, the applicators or cycles used and the twelve-week review with photographs. The consultation fee is credited to the first session, and there are no extra charges for follow-up questions or the review visit.
