Your hygienist starts by measuring the health of your gums tooth by tooth, then clears the soft plaque and the hardened tartar that a toothbrush simply cannot reach, especially along the gumline and between teeth. A polish lifts the surface stains that coffee, tea, and red wine leave behind, and everything finishes smooth, so plaque has a harder time taking hold again.

Along the way you get shown what is happening on the screen, and any spots that need a little extra attention at home. Nobody here works on commission, so if your mouth is healthy we tell you so and send you back into your day.

Why the rhythm matters more than the rule

Twice a year is a fine starting point, not a law. Healthy, low-risk mouths often stay on a comfortable six-month rhythm for years. If your gums need extra help, we may suggest a three or four month interval, because the bacteria that drive gum trouble return within about ninety days of a cleaning. We set your recall around your own mouth and book the next visit before you leave, so it never quietly slips off the calendar.
