Forty Years Cutting Honest Cloth In Modest Runs For People Who Keep What They Buy

We began in 1984 on a bench at the back of a Portland tailoring shop, with a single order for a wool coat and no plan to become a label. Four decades on we are still that size on purpose: a studio, not a factory, cutting a few dozen of a piece rather than a few thousand, so we can choose better cloth and stand behind every seam.

Garment-dyed Belgian linen with a soft, lived-in hand from the first wear. Cut a touch long to work open over a tee or closed as a light jacket when the afternoon turns.

A true bias cut in weighty sandwashed silk that moves the way silk should. Understated at dinner, quietly right under a knit and boots by day. Our most requested piece, back in three tones.

Each week we write one honest note from the studio: a fabric we have fallen for, a garment finding its way into rotation, the thinking behind a cut. No selling, just the work.
