Litigation & Mediation
Disputes cost time and attention as well as money. We look for the fastest fair resolution, and when a case has to be tried, we prepare it thoroughly.
Resolve business disputes with a clear plan
Every dispute has a cost that is not on the invoice: management time. We start by asking what outcome would let you move on, then map the realistic paths to it with rough budgets for each. Knowing the options early lets you choose rather than react.
Early assessment
Within the first weeks, you should know the strengths, the weak spots and the likely range of cost for each path forward.
We collect the contract, the emails and the timeline, and give you a written assessment you can share with your board.
Preserving documents matters from day one. Deleting routine emails after a dispute begins can create a second problem. We send a short hold notice to the right people and explain what to keep, so ordinary business can continue without risk.
Many business disputes involve contracts we can read against your governance records. Where ownership or board decisions are in question, our governance group reviews the minute book alongside the claim.

Mediation as a first choice
A well prepared mediation often resolves in one day what a lawsuit would take a year or more to settle.
We choose a mediator with relevant experience and prepare a short, candid statement of your position.
Preparation is what makes mediation work. We agree your walk-away point in advance, prepare the documents the mediator will ask for, and draft settlement terms before the session so a deal can be signed the same day.
When a case goes to court
Some matters need a judge, and we prepare them with that in mind from the start.
We handle pleadings, discovery, motions and trial in Minnesota state and federal courts, with regular budget updates. Settlement stays on the table throughout, and we tell you promptly when the numbers suggest it.
