Harvest Supper on the Lawn

A long-table supper under the string lights, with autumn food, a little music and plenty of room for grandchildren.

An autumn evening for the whole family

Every October we carry the dining room outside. Our culinary team builds a menu around produce from nearby farms, residents help set the long tables, and a local guitarist plays folk and country favorites as the sun goes down. Harvest Supper is our busiest night of the year, and the one residents mention most when they tell friends about Bramblewood.

What to expect on the night

Arrive from five for cider and a walk through the orchard. Supper is served family style at six, followed by pie, coffee and a sing-along for anyone brave enough. Blankets and lap rugs are on every chair, and there is a covered pavilion if the weather turns. Wheelchair-accessible paths run right to the tables.

Guest stories

Evenings to remember

"Supper on the lawn with live music felt like a summer wedding. Grandpa danced with my daughter and nobody wanted to go home."

Erin H., Granddaughter of a resident

"The chefs made a plate for my mom's soft diet without being asked twice. Little things like that matter enormously."

Jim K., Son of a resident

"We drove three hours for the Harvest Supper and it was worth every mile. The whole family is already planning for next year."

Sue & Walt N., Family of a resident

"My dad requested an old Johnny Cash song and the guitarist played it twice. He talked about it for a week."

Monica D., Daughter of a resident

"Blankets on every chair, cider at the gate and staff who knew every resident by name. It felt like family, not an event."

Tessa B., Niece of a resident

"I brought a neighbor who is thinking about moving in. By dessert she had made up her mind to book a tour."

Gail R., Resident
