What a first call is like

“The first call lasted twenty minutes and ended with a clear no. It saved us a year and more than the claim was worth.”

Before you ask

Before you write to us

Short answers to what callers ask us most. Anything not covered here can go in the form, and a partner will reply.

Do you offer flat fees?

For bounded stages, yes: early case assessments, demand letters and mediations are usually quoted at a fixed figure. Open-ended stages are billed hourly against a written budget.

Will a partner actually handle my case?

Yes. The partner you meet at the first meeting runs the matter and argues it. If we cannot staff a case that way, we will decline it and suggest someone who can.

How fast can you seek a restraining order?

When assets are at risk we can usually file within one to two days of instruction, and sooner where the record is already assembled.

What if you advise against a lawsuit?

Then we will say so at the first meeting and explain why. That advice is free, and clients tell us it is often the most useful thing we did for them.

Do you act against large Chicago firms?

Regularly. Most of our opponents are larger firms, and many of our referrals come from general counsel who have faced us across the table.

Do you take cases on contingency?

Occasionally, for strong claims against defendants who can pay. We will discuss fee options openly at the first meeting.
