Attorney

Grace Nakamura

Grace represents families in adoption, guardianship and parenting matters, bringing warmth and precise preparation to cases that shape a child's future.

Portrait of Grace Nakamura

Grace focuses on adoption, guardianship and parenting cases. She joined Larkspur after five years with a legal aid program serving families in the metro area. She also spent a year clerking for a juvenile court magistrate, where she saw how preparation shapes outcomes.

Her legal aid years taught her how much clear instructions matter. She gives every client a written checklist of next steps after each meeting. Families tell her the checklist is the one document they keep on the refrigerator. Her notes always list who to call, what to bring and which deadlines matter most in the weeks ahead.

She handles stepparent and relative adoptions, guardianships for minors and adults, and parenting time disputes that need a thoughtful approach. She prepares relatives for home studies and court interviews so nobody walks into a hearing unsure of what to expect.

Grace coordinates closely with caseworkers and evaluators so court filings are complete and hearings move without avoidable delays. When a hearing ends, she explains the order in plain terms the same day. She works closely with other attorneys at the firm when a family matter touches property or business issues.

She plays cello in a community orchestra and volunteers at a children's reading program on Saturday mornings. She also coaches a youth debate team at a Denver middle school in the spring.
