What a Chemical Peel Actually Feels Like, Day by Day
Short answer: A light chemical peel feels like a warm tingle for a few minutes, followed by a day or two of tightness and, for some people, light flaking around day three or four. Medium-depth peels bring more visible peeling for about a week. Both are planned around your calendar so the peeling days fall where you want them.
In the chair
We cleanse, protect the corners of your eyes and nose, then brush the solution on in thin layers. Most people feel warmth or a mild sting that peaks within a minute or two. A small fan helps, and we neutralize or remove the solution on a timer.

Helping your skin through the week
- Use the gentle cleanser and moisturizer we send home with you
- Let flakes lift on their own rather than picking them
- Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day, even indoors near windows
- Skip retinoids and exfoliating acids until we say it is time

Step by step
- Day one: skin feels tight and a little pink
- Day two to three: dryness and early flaking
- Day four to six: peeling peaks, then eases
- Day seven onward: smoother, brighter skin as it settles

“Most of the result comes from what you do in the week after the peel, not from the peel itself.”
