Your people are your business. We help Ohio employers write fair policies and answer claims before they grow.

Employment Law attorneys meeting with a client

Employment questions arrive at inconvenient times: a complaint on a Friday afternoon, a resignation from a key manager, a letter from a state agency. Our employment group gives employers practical answers the same day whenever we can, and a written plan when the question needs more than a phone call.

We advise companies from twenty employees to several thousand on hiring, pay practices, leave, discipline and separation. When a claim is filed we defend it before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the EEOC, the Department of Labor and in court, and we use what we learn from each claim to tighten the policies that led to it.

Much of our best work never becomes a claim at all. A manager calls before a difficult termination, we review the file together, and the separation happens fairly and with the right paperwork. That kind of early call is always welcome and is often the least expensive advice we give.

Employers call us because we answer fast and speak the language of operations, not only the law.

We suggest a review every year and a quick check whenever federal or Ohio rules change. A handbook more than two years old usually has at least one outdated policy.

“They rewrote our handbook with our managers sitting in the room and asking questions. Six months later our people actually open it and use it, which I honestly did not expect.”

“Clear updates, no jargon, and a written plan for every scenario we raised. I always knew what the next step was, who was handling it, and why it mattered to our business.”
Chief financial officerT. Okonkwo
“They told us plainly where our contract was strong and where it was weak, before we spent a dollar on filing. That honesty is exactly why we trusted them with the rest of a very long dispute.”
