Background

Why I practice business law

I grew up above my parents’ hardware store, where every lease renewal and supplier contract felt like a threat. Nobody explained those documents to them in plain language, and they signed more than a few they later regretted. I still remember the renewal that nearly cost them the store.

After years at a large firm working on deals for national companies, I opened Pruitt Law to bring the same preparation to owners like my parents. The work is the same care, sized to a business that signs its own checks, from a lawyer who answers the phone himself.

Principles

The principles behind every matter

Clarity

Plain-English advice and a clear next step after every call, email or meeting.

Candor

Honest views on risk and cost, including when a matter is not worth pursuing.

Diligence

Documents read line by line and deadlines tracked, because details decide deals.

Discretion

Sensitive plans and numbers stay private, shared only with people you approve.

“Our lease renewal looked routine until Julian found a relocation clause that could have moved us across town. He negotiated it out within a week and explained every change in plain terms.”

“When our first investor sent a term sheet, Julian turned forty pages into a one-page summary of what mattered. We signed knowing exactly what we gave up and what we kept.”
