Introduction to body contouring
Body contouring at our studio means non-surgical fat reduction. A cooling applicator is placed on a pinchable area of fat and lowers the temperature of the fat cells in a controlled way. Over the following weeks, the body gradually clears the affected cells, and many clients notice a modest, natural-looking reduction in that bulge.
It is not a weight-loss treatment and it does not tighten loose skin. It is designed for people who are close to their goal weight and have a specific area that has not responded to diet and exercise. Being clear about that up front is the most important part of the process.
Are you a good candidate?
The strongest candidates have soft fat they can pinch between their fingers, stable weight and realistic expectations. Common areas are the lower abdomen, flanks, bra line, inner and outer thighs and the area under the chin.
It is not suitable for firm, deep fat, significant skin laxity or anyone with cold-related conditions such as cryoglobulinemia or cold urticaria. During consultation, the nurse measures and photographs each area and tells you honestly whether contouring is likely to help.
What treatment day is like
Each application lasts about 35 to 45 minutes. After a minute or two of intense cold, the area goes numb and most clients read, work or nap. A short massage follows to help the process along.
- Temporary redness, firmness or numbness for a few weeks
- Occasional tingling or ache in the treated area
- Normal activities, including exercise, the same day

When results appear
Changes are gradual. Many clients first notice a difference around four to six weeks, with the fullest result at about three months. Some areas benefit from a second round. Because results depend on keeping a stable weight, we pair every plan with simple follow-up measurements rather than promising a number of inches.
Aftercare and follow-up visits
Expect the treated area to look a little swollen for the first week, which can make it seem larger before it looks smaller. That is normal and settles on its own.
You can return to normal activities straight after treatment, including work and exercise. The treated area may feel firm, numb, tender or itchy for a few weeks; loose clothing and gentle massage at home can help. Over-the-counter pain relief is rarely needed, but ask us before taking anything new.
We book a review at about three months to repeat your measurements and photos in the same positions. That is when we decide together whether a second cycle on the same area makes sense, or whether your result is where you want it. There is no charge for the review visit.
Most clients protect the result by continuing whatever kept their weight steady before treatment. We are glad to talk through timing if you are planning a pregnancy or a big change in activity, since both can affect how the area looks later.
