First visits

What a first wrinkle relaxer visit actually looks like

Studio scene illustrating the article

A first wrinkle relaxer visit is mostly conversation. Expect about 30 minutes of consultation, 10 minutes of injections and a two-week check, with no downtime for most people.

It starts with how your face moves

Before anyone picks up a syringe, a nurse asks you to frown, smile, squint and raise your brows while she watches where each line forms. That short exercise tells her which muscles are doing the folding and how strong they are. It is also when you should say what you want to keep: an expressive brow, a crinkle at the eyes when you laugh, or a look that stays close to how you are now.

  • Bring a list of medications and supplements
  • Mention any upcoming events in the next three weeks
  • Ask how many units the plan uses and why

The treatment itself is short

After cleansing, the nurse marks a few points and places tiny injections with a very fine needle. Most people describe it as a series of quick pinches that is over in a few minutes. Small bumps at each point settle within half an hour, and you can go back to work or errands the same day.

A good first appointment is the one where you ask a lot of questions and leave with a plan you understand.

Inside the studio

The first two weeks

Nothing much happens on day one. Around day three or four most people start to notice a softer frown or forehead, and the full effect settles at about two weeks. That is why we book a short review then. If one side is moving more than the other, a few extra units even things out.

  1. Day 0: treatment, stay upright for four hours
  2. Day 1: normal routine, gentle exercise is fine
  3. Days 3 to 5: first softening appears
  4. Day 14: review visit and small adjustments

When to come back

Movement returns gradually over three to four months. Many clients book their next visit when they notice lines forming again rather than on a fixed schedule, and some find the interval lengthens with regular treatment.

Quick questions

Can I wear makeup afterward?

Yes, after about four hours. Apply it gently without pressing hard on the treated points.

What if I do not like the result?

Relaxers wear off gradually, and at your two-week review we can balance any unevenness with a few extra units.

Is there anything I should avoid beforehand?

If your provider agrees, pausing fish oil, high-dose vitamin E and alcohol for a day or two can reduce bruising.
