Introduction to medical facials
A medical facial looks relaxing from the outside, and it is, but it is built on clinical steps rather than scent and massage. A nurse or licensed aesthetician examines your skin under magnification, then uses medical-grade exfoliants, a gentle suction extraction wand and targeted serums chosen for what she sees that day. The goal is healthier, calmer skin, not just an hour of pampering.
It is the treatment we suggest most often as a starting point. It gives your nurse a close look at how your skin behaves, fits easily between other treatments and is suitable for almost every skin type, including sensitive skin and skin that is breaking out.
What happens in the treatment room
We begin with a double cleanse and a skin analysis. A light enzyme or acid exfoliation follows, then a vortex-style suction wand lifts debris from pores while infusing hydrating serum. Manual extractions are done only where needed and always gently.
Next comes a treatment step matched to your skin: an antioxidant layer for dull skin, a calming mask for redness, or LED light for breakout-prone areas. We finish with moisturizer and mineral sunscreen, and you can go straight back to your day with makeup on if you like.
Benefits many clients notice
Most people leave with visibly clearer pores and a smooth, hydrated finish. With monthly visits, many clients notice steadier skin with fewer surprise breakouts.
- Cleaner pores and softer texture after one visit
- No downtime, so it works before events
- A tailored home routine written for your skin

Building it into your routine
Skin renews roughly every four to six weeks, which is why a monthly facial is a common rhythm. Many clients alternate facials with peels, IPL or microneedling so each visit supports the next. Before any event, book your facial three to five days ahead to let any redness from extractions settle.
Aftercare and your home routine
There is very little aftercare. Skip heavy workouts, saunas and strong actives like retinoids for the rest of the day, and let your skin enjoy the hydration. If you had extractions, avoid touching those areas and use a light, non-comedogenic moisturizer overnight.
Every facial ends with a short written home plan: which cleanser type suits you, when to use actives, and what sunscreen texture you are most likely to wear daily. Small, steady habits between visits do as much for your skin as the facial itself, and your nurse updates the plan as your skin changes through the seasons.
