Introduction to RF microneedling
RF microneedling combines two tools. A handpiece presses a grid of very fine insulated needles into the skin, and at a set depth each needle releases a pulse of radiofrequency energy. The tiny channels and the gentle heat both prompt the skin to repair itself, laying down new collagen over the following months.
Because the depth and heat can be adjusted, the same device can treat shallow texture on the cheeks, deeper acne scarring and softer skin along the jaw and neck. It suits most skin tones when settings are chosen carefully, which makes it one of the most versatile treatments we offer.
Who tends to be a good candidate
The strongest candidates have concerns that live in the skin itself: uneven texture, visible pores, shallow to moderate acne scars, stretch marks or mild laxity. It is less suited to deep folds or major sagging, where other options make more sense.
We do not treat active acne breakouts, open wounds or skin that is sunburned. Anyone who has used isotretinoin in the last six months should wait, and we pause treatment during pregnancy.
What to expect, day by day
After numbing cream has worked for about 45 minutes, the treatment itself takes 20 to 40 minutes. Skin looks pink to red afterward, similar to a sunburn, and can feel warm for a few hours.
- Day one and two: redness and mild swelling
- Days three to five: light roughness or flaking
- Weeks four to twelve: gradual smoothing as collagen builds

Why patience pays off
Collagen takes time. Most people see a subtle glow in the first week, but the texture change that matters shows up between one and three months after each session. A typical plan is three sessions four to six weeks apart, with a maintenance visit once or twice a year. We photograph your skin in the same light at every visit so you can see the change even when day-to-day it feels slow.
Aftercare for the first two weeks
Keep your routine gentle for the first week: a mild cleanser, a plain moisturizer and a mineral sunscreen every morning. Skip retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs and swimming pools for five to seven days, and avoid heavy sweating for the first 48 hours while the tiny channels close.
Most people are comfortable returning to work the next day with a little tinted sunscreen. We send you home with written aftercare and a check-in text on day two, and your next session is booked before you leave so the series stays on schedule.
