Introduction to skin tightening
Our skin tightening treatment uses radiofrequency energy delivered through a smooth handpiece that glides over the skin. The energy warms the deeper layers to a carefully monitored temperature. That controlled heat causes existing collagen to contract slightly and signals the skin to build new collagen over the following months.
Because nothing breaks the surface, there are no needles and no downtime. The trade-off is that change is gradual and modest. It is designed for early laxity and crepey texture, not for significant sagging, and we say so plainly at consultation.
Areas and candidates
The most common areas are the jawline and jowls, the neck, the skin around the eyes and the area above the knees. Good candidates are usually in their thirties to early sixties with mild to moderate softening of the skin and a wish to avoid surgery or downtime.
If skin laxity is more advanced, a surgical opinion may be more helpful, and we will tell you that. Tightening also works well alongside other treatments, such as filler for volume or RF microneedling for texture.
What a session feels like
A session takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area. The handpiece feels like a warm stone massage, rising to hot for a few seconds before it moves on. Skin may look flushed for an hour afterward.
- No numbing needed and no needles
- Slight redness that fades within the hour
- Makeup and normal activities right away

Your timeline
Some clients notice a subtle firmness right after the session as collagen contracts. The more meaningful change builds over two to six months as new collagen forms. Most plans involve three to four sessions about a month apart, then maintenance once or twice a year to support the result as skin continues to age.
Aftercare and maintenance
Aftercare is minimal. Your skin may look flushed or feel warm for an hour or two; a cool compress helps. Makeup, work and exercise are all fine the same day. Keep your usual skincare, and use sunscreen daily to protect the collagen you are building.
After your series, most people book one or two maintenance sessions a year. We compare photos from the same angle and light at every visit, which is the clearest way to see gradual firming. If progress stalls, your nurse will suggest adjusting the plan or combining tightening with another treatment rather than simply adding more sessions.
