Doorknob holes, anchor scars, settling cracks and the ceiling stain left by an old leak all tell the same story: the wall needs more than a dab of spackle. Our drywall and paint visits repair the damage properly and blend the finish so you cannot find it later.
We cut back loose material, set patches on backing, tape and mud in thin coats, then match the texture before priming and painting. For whole rooms, we protect floors and furniture, repair every flaw first and roll two finish coats so the color reads evenly in daylight.
We also look for the cause before we patch. A crack that keeps returning over a doorway, a ceiling stain that grows or a wall that sounds hollow usually points to something else, and we will tell you when a patch alone will not solve it.
Take down art, curtains and shelves on the walls we are repairing, and move small items off nearby furniture. Tell us whether the room has been repainted since the house was built, since older layers change how new paint takes. If you know the color name or have a can in the garage, have it ready. Larger patches may need a short second visit, because compound has to dry fully before sanding and paint, and rushing that step is what makes a patch show.
A few photos with something for scale lets us quote most patches before we arrive.
Floors, furniture and fixtures are covered, and outlets and trim are taped before the first cut.
Tape, mud and sand in layers, then match texture so the repair sits flush and flat.
Stain-blocking primer on every repair, then finish paint feathered or wall to wall so there is no halo.
A good patch is invisible. That takes patience, the right primer and a clean room at the end.
Knockdown, orange peel and smooth finishes blended into the surrounding wall.
Water and smoke stains are sealed first so they never bleed through new paint.
We vacuum, pull tape and put furniture back before we call the job done.
Small patches with paint usually cost $165 to $290 per visit, including drying time between coats. Full rooms are quoted by wall area and trim count, with paint included or supplied by you.
Compare visit plansNot when it is done right. We sand flush, match texture and paint the full wall section or corner to corner so the sheen and color blend.
We can supply a quality paint in your chosen color or use yours. If you have leftover cans from the original job, set them out and we will check whether they are still good.
Patches need drying time between coats, so small jobs may be finished across two short visits. Fresh paint is dry to the touch in about an hour and ready for furniture the same day.
Yes, once the leak itself is repaired. We confirm the area is dry, cut out any soft drywall, seal the stain with a blocking primer and repaint.
We move and cover furniture ourselves. We ask that you clear small items, art and anything fragile before we arrive.
Marked-up walls make a whole room look tired. Book a patch and paint visit and get the room looking finished again.
Hollis technicians cover Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Garner, Morrisville and Wake Forest from our office on Oakridge Commons. Weekday visits run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday mornings are open for smaller jobs, and every booking gets a two-hour arrival window plus a text when we are on the way.
