About Brightwater
Steady Help for a New Start.
For seventeen years we have worked beside families, professionals and employers at real turning points in their lives. This page explains who we are and what keeps us in this work, year after year.

Where we started
In 2009, Elena Marquez opened a two-room Houston office after helping a neighbor through a spousal petition that had been rejected twice for missing papers. The fix took patience, careful records and clear explanations.
"That family taught me that the forms are never the whole story. Behind every file is someone trying to keep their life together."
"We have grown to nine attorneys and a staff that speaks eleven languages, but our standard is still the one Elena set on day one: treat every case as though it were the only file on the desk."
What drives us
A move to a new country is never just a paperwork problem. It is a turning point in a life, and we treat it that way.
Every client arrives with a different history, a different family and a different goal. Our job is to understand all three, then build the most solid path the law allows, one careful step at a time.

Our commitments
Promises we keep with every client.

Candor before comfort.
If your case has a weak point, you will hear about it in the first meeting. If it is stronger than you feared, you will hear that too. Good decisions start with accurate information, and we would rather lose a client than mislead one.

Plain words, every time.
Immigration runs on form numbers and legal terms that leave people lost. We translate all of it, in every email, call and letter, so you always know what is happening in your file, what we are waiting on and what comes next.

Still here after the decision.
A decision is rarely the last step. We keep your file ready for renewals, family petitions and citizenship later on, because our relationship with a client does not end on the day a case closes.
Our people
The people who will know your file.
Nine attorneys, eleven languages between us and one shared way of working.
