Surgery
Spay, neuter and soft tissue procedures planned step by step, with monitored anesthesia and a recovery plan you understand.

Surgery
Surgery is a big day for any family, so we spend time on the parts that happen before and after the procedure. Every surgical patient has an exam and bloodwork beforehand, and we talk through the anesthesia plan, pain control and what recovery at home will look like before you sign anything.
Our doctors perform spays and neuters, lump and mass removals, wound repairs, biopsies and other common soft tissue procedures. On surgery day, a technician monitors your pet continuously, warming support and IV fluids are standard, and you get a call as soon as your pet is in recovery.

Who it is for
Most of the surgery we perform is planned in advance: spays and neuters, removal of lumps found at wellness exams, biopsies and repair of small wounds. Planned surgery lets us run bloodwork, review medications and talk through the plan with you without any rush.
Pets with heart murmurs, older pets and very small or very large dogs may need a tailored anesthesia plan, extra tests or a longer recovery stay. If a procedure is better suited to a referral hospital with advanced equipment, we will tell you plainly and help arrange the referral and records.
What is included
- A pre-surgical exam and bloodwork for every patient
- IV fluids, warming support and continuous monitoring
- Pain relief before, during and after surgery
- Printed home-care instructions and a free recheck
Most patients go home the same day. Expect a cone or recovery suit, restricted activity for ten to fourteen days and a short recheck to look at the incision.
By life stage
| Procedure | Typical time at clinic | Recheck |
|---|---|---|
| Cat neuter or spay | Morning to afternoon | 10 to 14 days |
| Dog neuter or spay | Morning to late afternoon | 10 to 14 days |
| Lump removal | Morning to afternoon | 10 to 14 days, with lab results |
Good to know
For larger or more complex procedures, we will tell you if a referral hospital is a better fit, and help arrange it. Being clear about what we do every week, and what we refer, is part of planning surgery well.
From our doctors
Every surgical patient has a named technician for the day, and that person is your contact for updates. Before discharge we walk you through the incision, medication timing and activity limits, and we send the same instructions home in writing. A team member calls the next day to check on appetite, comfort and the incision, and you can send photos at any time during open hours. Questions that come up at night can wait in an email; our surgical technician reads them first thing and replies before the morning appointments begin.
Pricing facts: Spay and neuter procedures typically range from $380 to $820 depending on size.

The doctors behind our care
Surgery questions, answered
It depends on species, breed and size. We will talk through current guidance for your pet at a wellness visit.
Most patients go home the same day, so you will see them at pickup. We send a photo update if you ask.
Every patient gets pain relief before surgery begins, local blocks where they help, and medication to take home.
Call us during open hours and send a photo. Mild redness can be normal; we will tell you if a recheck is needed.
You get a written estimate range at the consult that covers bloodwork, anesthesia, monitoring, the procedure, pain relief and the recheck. If something changes during surgery, we call you before going outside that range.
Usually no food after midnight, with water allowed until morning. Very young, very small or diabetic pets get their own instructions.
Expect a quiet, sleepy first evening and a steady return to normal over a few days. Keep the incision dry and protected, and call us with any swelling, discharge or loss of appetite.
