Pepper Grows Up
A shelter puppy's first twelve months with us, from the vaccine series to a spay and a calmer car ride.
Pepper Grows Up
Pepper arrived at nine weeks with a shelter record, a nervous tummy and a family that wanted to do everything right.
How we planned it
- We transferred her shelter vaccine dates into her chart.
- A stool test guided her deworming plan.
- Her visits were spaced every three to four weeks.
- Each visit ended with treats and a short, happy handling session.
What we did
Pepper finished her puppy vaccines, started parasite prevention and had her spay planned around her size and growth, with bloodwork beforehand.
Home care plan
- A feeding chart for growing medium-size dogs.
- A short car-ride practice plan to ease travel nerves.
- Reminders for boosters and prevention.
- A recheck after her spay.
Follow-up
- Her spay recheck was uneventful.
- Car rides became shorter and calmer over a few weeks.
- Her first adult wellness exam was booked for her birthday.
- Her family enrolled in a wellness plan to spread costs.
