About this treatment

Laser hair removal uses light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. The light converts to heat in the follicle and reduces its ability to grow new hair. Only follicles in the active growth phase respond at each visit, which is why treatment is a course rather than a single appointment.

We plan sessions four to eight weeks apart depending on the area: faces cycle faster than legs. Most clients see a meaningful reduction after six to eight sessions, with occasional maintenance visits after that. Results vary with hair color, skin tone and hormones. Our device settings are chosen for your skin type at a patch test before the first full session.

Every course begins with a patch test at least 48 hours before the first full session. It lets us confirm the right settings for your skin tone and hair, and it gives you a chance to feel the treatment on a small area first. We then book the whole course at once so the spacing works with your hair cycle rather than with gaps in the calendar. Between visits you can shave as often as you like but should avoid waxing, plucking and threading. Most clients notice finer, slower regrowth after the second or third session, and patchy shedding one to three weeks after each visit is normal.

Good to know

Shave the area the day before; do not wax or pluck for four weeks · Avoid sun and self-tan for two weeks before · Skip hot showers and workouts for 24 hours after · A patch test is required before the first session

How a course runs

Planned around the cycle.

01 · Session one

Patch test and plan

We test a small area, confirm settings for your skin and hair, and book the full course so the spacing works.

02 · Sessions two to five

The steady middle

Short visits every four to eight weeks. Hair sheds over one to three weeks after each one, and regrowth slows.

03 · Sessions six to eight

Review and maintain

We photograph the area, count what is left and decide together whether you need more or simply a yearly visit.

Questions

Asked at every consult.

Will the hair stay gone for good?
It is more accurately described as long-term hair reduction. Most clients see a large reduction after a full course, and some regrowth over years is normal, which a maintenance visit usually handles.
Does it work on all hair colors?
Laser targets pigment, so it works well on dark hair. Blonde, red, gray and white hair respond poorly or not at all. We will tell you honestly at the consult.
Can I have it with darker skin?
Yes, with the right wavelength and settings. We patch test every client and adjust for your skin type before a full session.
What does it feel like?
Most people describe a warm snap, like a rubber band. Cooling is built into the handpiece and sessions on small areas are over in minutes.
Why do I need to shave but not wax?
The laser needs the hair root in the follicle to work, so plucking and waxing get in the way. Shaving leaves the root in place and prevents surface hair from burning.
Can I tan between sessions?
Please avoid tanning, including self-tan, for two weeks before each session. Tanned skin absorbs more of the laser energy, which raises the risk of irritation and means we may need to lower the settings.
