About this treatment
A medical facial is a clinical facial built around your skin that day. It starts with a skin assessment under a magnifying lamp, then a double cleanse, gentle exfoliation, extractions where needed, a treatment mask and hydration. The products are medical-grade and chosen for you rather than from a set menu.
Our facials are done by Tessa Varga, our licensed esthetician, in a room with a view of the garden. Many clients book monthly to keep congestion down and hydration up, or before an event for a same-day glow. Facials also pair well with other treatments: two weeks before a peel, or between microneedling sessions to calm and hydrate.
Before your first facial you fill in a short skin questionnaire about your routine, medications and any sensitivities, so the hour is spent on your skin rather than on paperwork. At the end Tessa writes down what she used and why, along with a short home routine, usually three or four products at most, and the order to use them in. If a product you already own will do the job, she will tell you. Facials also make a good first step for anyone curious about the studio, because they include a skin assessment that can guide later decisions about peels, microneedling or injectables.

The room
An hour, uninterrupted.
The facial room sits at the back of the house, away from the front door and the phone. The bed is heated in winter, the linen is changed between every client and the only sound is the garden.
Tessa talks you through each step if you want to learn, or stays quiet if you would rather rest. Either is fine.
Client words
“I have had facials all over town. This is the first one where someone looked at my skin properly first.”

Questions
Asked at every consult.
- How often should I have a facial?
- Monthly suits most people, roughly matching your skin's renewal cycle. Some clients come every six to eight weeks for maintenance.
- Will extractions leave marks?
- Careful extractions may leave slight redness for a few hours. We only extract what is ready and use a calming mask afterwards.
- Can I have a facial if I am pregnant?
- Yes, with adjustments. We avoid certain acids and ingredients and choose a gentle routine. Please tell us when you book.
- What is the difference from a spa facial?
- A medical facial uses clinical-grade products and is led by a licensed esthetician who assesses your skin first. It is less about fragrance and more about results.
- Do you sell the products you use?
- We keep a short shelf of medical-grade products and will only suggest what your skin needs. There is never an obligation to buy.
- Can men book medical facials?
- Of course. Many of our facial clients are men, and the treatment is adjusted for beard areas, shaving irritation and oilier skin where needed.
