FAQ
Got questions? These come up first in almost every kickoff call. If yours is not on the list, put it in an email.
Ask us anythingClients run from a two-person seed-stage outfit to companies three decades old. Briefs vary just as widely: whole identity systems, a site build, a campaign burst, or standing art direction month after month.
It starts with a short conversation about your goals and timing. If it fits, a scoped proposal and a start date follow, usually within the week.
Certainly. Single briefs sit alongside our monthly retainers, and plenty of people arrive with one piece of work and stay for the rest.
Scope decides. A brand refresh might take a few weeks. A complete identity plus site build usually runs two to four months. The schedule is agreed before work begins.
That is a common starting point. We help you clarify the problem first, then recommend the smallest piece of work that will move it.
“Clarity comes before growth. A brand has to know what it is for and who it is speaking to before it can ask anyone to care.”
- Theo Nakamura, Strategy Partner
We are Verso, an independent creative studio in Portland. We help brands decide who they are, say it well, and keep it consistent everywhere a customer meets them.
We sit beside our clients through the whole build, so the brands last and the experiences get remembered.

We settle a company’s argument for itself, give it a face, then build the rooms where customers turn up. Quieter work, sharper results.
