Brown sugar body polish
A full body scrub with raw brown sugar, sweet almond oil and a little honey, worked in with slow circular strokes from the feet up. It lifts dry, dull skin without the sting of salt, which makes it a good choice for sensitive or freshly shaved skin.
After the scrub you rinse off in a warm rain shower, then come back to the table for a rich body balm massaged in by hand. Skin feels soft for days, and the balm soaks in without leaving you greasy.
We love this one before a holiday, a wedding or the first bare-shoulder day of spring, and it pairs well with the steam ritual if you want the full afternoon.
Why guests choose it
We make the scrub fresh for every guest in a small ceramic bowl, adjusting the ratio of sugar to oil for your skin. Drier skin gets more oil and honey, while oilier skin gets a slightly coarser mix that rinses clean. You can ask for it unscented or with a few drops of orange peel or cedar.
A polish is the quickest way to change how your skin feels from head to toe. Rough elbows, dry shins and winter dullness all soften in a single session, and the balm keeps that comfort going for days afterwards.
Before you arrive
Skip heavy lotion on the day of your polish so the sugar can grip the skin properly. If you have any cuts, fresh tattoos or irritated patches, tell us and we will work around them.
Wear something loose to travel home in. After the balm your skin will be soft and nourished, and tight clothing straight away can feel sticky.
Afterwards
Wait at least twenty four hours before a hot bath, a sauna or any other exfoliation. Let the balm do its work overnight, then moisturise as usual the next morning.
For an even longer lasting result, keep up a gentle body oil after your shower for the next week. Your esthetician can blend a small bottle of the same oil we used, if you liked it.
Why sugar, not salt
Gentle grain
Sugar crystals round off as they dissolve, so the scrub stays soft.
Warm oils
Almond oil and honey keep skin comfortable, not stripped.
Balm finish
A slow balm massage seals everything in before you dress.

Please leave at least a day between shaving and your appointment so the scrub feels comfortable.
