Warm oil massage

Long, flowing strokes with oil warmed to skin temperature. We blend the oil in the room while you settle in, choosing from sweet almond, jojoba and a few drops of whatever scent you like best, or nothing at all.

Pressure starts gentle and builds only as far as feels good. Most of the hour goes to the back, shoulders and legs, with the last few minutes spent on the hands, feet and scalp so you come up slowly instead of being snapped awake.

The ninety minute version adds a warm compress on the lower back and more time on the neck. It is the one we recommend if you sit at a desk all week or have not had a massage in a while.

Why guests choose it

We keep the room warm, the lights low and the table heated, so you never feel a chill even in the middle of winter. Soft music is optional, and many guests ask us to turn it off completely and simply listen to the quiet of the room.

Warm oil massage is the treatment we recommend most to first time guests. It is gentle enough to feel safe if you have never had a massage, yet thorough enough that regulars book it every month for years.

The oils are chosen for how they feel rather than for a label. Jojoba sinks in quickly, almond gives a longer glide and a little plain sunflower keeps everything light, so your skin feels soft rather than coated when you get dressed.

Before you arrive

Arrive fifteen minutes early to change, have a cup of tea and let your breathing slow down. If you can, walk the last few blocks instead of rushing in from the car; your shoulders will thank you.

Let us know about injuries, recent surgery or pregnancy when you book, and mention any areas you would rather we skip. Some guests do not like their feet or scalp touched, and that is completely fine.

Afterwards

Take a few minutes in the courtyard lounge before heading out. The oil can leave your hair and skin a little glossy, so bring a hair tie if you have plans afterwards.

Drink water through the evening and keep the rest of the day gentle. Many guests tell us they sleep deeply that night, so an early night is a lovely way to finish.

Pressure that listens

Our therapists check in once early on, then let you rest. If you want deeper work on a stubborn spot, just say so; if you want to drift off, they will keep the pace slow and steady.

Good to know

The longer session adds a warm compress, more neck and shoulder work and a slower finish. Choose it if you carry tension in your upper back.

Yes. We keep lavender, orange peel, cedar and an unscented oil on hand, and blend them to order.

Either works. Many guests leave the oil on for an hour afterwards; our showers are stocked if you prefer to rinse.

Yes, our double room holds two tables side by side. Book the For two membership or call to reserve it.

Not at all. Your therapist will check pressure once, then the room stays quiet unless you want to chat.

Tell us and we switch to a jojoba and sunflower blend with no nut oils at all.
