Five skincare habits worth keeping

The short answer

Cleanse gently at night, wear sunscreen daily, moisturise damp skin, change pillowcases often and keep hands away from your face. Simple habits, done consistently, matter most.

Our estheticians see hundreds of faces a month, and the clients with the calmest skin rarely have the longest routines. They just keep a few habits, every day.

Cleanse at night, gently

Removing sunscreen, makeup and city grime before bed matters more than a morning cleanse. Use lukewarm water and a soft cleanser, and pat dry.

Sunscreen, every day

Even in winter, even indoors near windows. It is the single habit that protects all your other efforts.

Moisturise damp skin

Apply moisturiser within a minute of washing, while skin is still slightly damp, so it holds on to that water.

Small things add up

Fresh pillowcases twice a week and hands off your chin during meetings sound trivial, yet our team notices the difference in clients who stick with them.

Questions

Not necessarily. If your skin feels comfortable after cleansing, you can skip it.

SPF 30 or higher, applied generously and topped up if you are outdoors.

This is exactly the nudge I needed. Booked a Saturday for next month and already feel calmer.

Love these notes. Would you write one about skincare in winter next?
