What happens in Reflexology Session

Reflexology is a focused practice built around the feet, with a short finish on the hands. You stay fully clothed apart from shoes and socks, reclined under a blanket in one of our quiet rooms.

After a warm foot soak, your practitioner uses small, steady thumb and finger movements across the soles, heels and toes, following a traditional map of the feet. The pressure is firm and even, and the rhythm is very soothing.

We describe reflexology as a relaxation practice. It is not a way to diagnose or treat any condition, and we never suggest otherwise.

It suits people who are on their feet all day, anyone who finds full-body massage too much, and guests who like to drift off in a chair.

Because you stay dressed and the session is under an hour, it fits neatly into a lunch break or the start of a day off. Many guests say it is the easiest treatment on our menu to make a regular habit, and the one they look forward to most after a long run of shifts.

Common questions

Does reflexology tickle?

Rarely. The pressure is firm and steady, which most ticklish guests find perfectly comfortable after the first minute.

Do I need to undress?

Only shoes and socks. It is a good option if you prefer to stay clothed.

Can reflexology treat health problems?

We offer it purely for relaxation and comfort. For any health concern, please see your doctor.

Is it suitable during pregnancy?

Please ask when booking. We may suggest waiting until later in pregnancy or a different session.

How is it different from a foot massage?

It uses small, precise thumb movements in a set sequence rather than broad strokes, and the whole session stays on the feet and hands.

Your visit, step by step

  1. 01

    Warm soak

A basin of warm water and Epsom salt to soften the feet.

  2. 02

    Thumb walking

Slow, even pressure across each foot, then the hands.

  3. 03

    Rest a moment

A few quiet minutes reclined before you head out.

Who it suits best

Reflexology is ideal when you would rather stay dressed, when your feet have done most of the work, or when you want deep rest in a shorter visit that fits around a shift.

  • Nurses, chefs, teachers and retail teams
  • Guests who prefer to stay fully clothed
  • People who find full-body massage too much
  • Anyone who likes to doze off in a chair

Before you arrive

Wear loose trousers that roll up easily above the ankle. Please let us know about foot injuries, recent surgery, circulation concerns or pregnancy when booking, since we may suggest waiting or a different session. There is no need to prepare your feet; the warm soak at the start takes care of that. Arrive five minutes early and we will have the basin ready and the chair reclined when you walk in.
