Smooth basalt stones, heated in water, carry steady warmth deep into tired muscles while your therapist massages around them.
Heat does a lot of the persuading in this session. Dark basalt stones are warmed in a water bath, checked against the wrist, then placed along the back, in the palms and between the toes while your therapist works around them.
Once the muscles have softened, the stones become tools: rounded edges glide along the shoulders and calves with more comfort than fingertips alone. The combination feels deep without the intensity of focused pressure work.
It is our favourite booking for cold months and for anyone who runs chilly. Guests often describe the first placement as sinking into a warm bath.
We finish with cool stones across the forehead for a crisp, awake ending before you head back out.
If you are new to heat treatments, your therapist will start with fewer stones and add more as you settle, so the warmth always stays comfortable and never becomes the focus.
Muscles stay loose well after you leave the table.
Heat softens tissue so less pressure is needed.
An easy antidote to cold, grey afternoons.
Warm stones are a gentle way to reach deep muscles, because heat does much of the softening. Guests who feel the cold, or who find firm hands too much, usually love it.
Warm, not hot. Every stone is checked against the therapist's skin before it touches yours and moved on straight away if it feels too much.
It is not advised during pregnancy, with some circulation or skin conditions, or right after sun exposure. If you are unsure, ask us before booking.
It includes full massage work, so it can. Many guests alternate it with Swedish Flow through the seasons.
Every set is washed and sanitised after each guest and heated in fresh water for the next session.
Say the word. We remove stones, lower the table heat or open the room up. Your comfort sets the pace.
Avoid a long hot bath or sauna right before your session, and let us know about any circulation, skin or heart concerns when you book so we can adjust or suggest something else. Stone therapy is not offered during pregnancy. Arrive ten minutes early so the stones and the room are ready at exactly the right warmth.

“The warm stones melted a knot I had carried since spring. I walked out standing taller and slept like a stone myself.”Miles, Warm Stone Therapy

Most of our bookings come from people who have visited before.
Free parking, a step-free entrance and a quiet garden path.

Every room is heated, dimmed and set with fresh linen before your session starts, so the only thing left to do is lie down. Phones stay in the locker, the music stays soft and nobody knocks.
