Mai spent her early career behind a department store skincare counter and left because she wanted to spend more time with skin and less time selling. Her facials are slow, careful and famously free of any product pitch.

She writes the short home routines guests take away, and she will happily look over whatever is already in your bathroom cabinet.

Away from work she paints watercolors of the river path and keeps a notebook of every tea she has ever tried.
