About this service
Our surgical suite handles routine and soft tissue procedures: spays and neuters, mass removals, wound repairs, bladder stone surgery and more. Every patient gets a pre-surgical exam and blood work so the anesthetic plan fits their age, size and health.
On surgery day, one technician is assigned to watch your pet throughout, keeping an eye on heart rate, breathing, oxygen and temperature. We text you when your pet is out of surgery and again when they are awake, and you take home written aftercare with the doctor’s direct number.
Pets get pain relief before surgery, during the procedure and for the days at home afterward. You leave with a dosing chart that shows what to give and when.
Some procedures, like complex orthopedic repairs, are better handled at a referral hospital. When that is the case, we explain why, help you choose and send over your pet’s records the same day.
A pre-surgical visit covers the exam, blood work and your questions. You get a written estimate and printed instructions for the night before, including food, water and any medications to give or hold. Bring the instructions back on the day so we can confirm them together.
Nearly every surgical patient is home by late afternoon. Expect a sleepy pet that evening, a light meal and a quiet room. We send home a cone or recovery suit, any medications, and a page that explains what is normal and what deserves a call.
Not every lump needs surgery. We often start with a quick needle sample in the exam room, read it under the microscope and decide together whether to watch it, test it further or remove it. If removal makes sense, the sample goes to an outside lab so you know exactly what it was.
FAQ
Still unsure? Call (555) 208-4416 and a team member will help you choose.
The answer depends on whether it is a dog or cat, the breed, and how big your pet will grow, so we set a date together at a checkup.
Most pets skip breakfast that morning but can have water. We will call the day before with exact instructions and a drop-off time.
Most soft tissue patients are back to normal routines within ten to fourteen days, with a cone or recovery suit and short leash walks in the meantime.
You can call any time. We also text updates after surgery and when your pet is awake.
Yes. A brief incision check about two weeks later is part of the price, with suture removal if needed.
