Five evening habits after a soak

The short answer

Drink water, press a little oil into damp skin, eat something light, dim the lights early and let yourself go to bed sooner than usual.

The feeling after a long soak is precious, and it is easy to lose it the moment you walk back into a busy house. These five small habits help it last.

The five habits

  • Drink two glasses of water before dinner
  • Press a little plain oil into damp skin after your shower
  • Choose a light, warm meal
  • Dim the lights an hour earlier than usual
  • Leave the phone in another room at bedtime

None of these are complicated, and that is the point. The circuit leaves you warm and loose; the evening is about protecting that.

The pools do the hard part. The evening is just about not undoing it.

Why oil on damp skin

Mineral water and heat can leave skin feeling a little dry by nightfall. A few drops of a simple oil, pressed in while the skin is still damp, keeps it comfortable. We use sweet almond, but any plain oil you like will do.

Quick questions

Any plain, gentle oil you already like. Sweet almond and jojoba are both easy to find.

This is exactly how our first visit went, and the tea on the terrace was the highlight.

The cold plunge scared me the first time. By the third round I was looking forward to it.

Ten seconds is always enough the first time. See you next visit.
