Botanical facial
A calm, unhurried facial built around what grows in the valley. Mei begins with a warm cleanse and a short consultation about how your skin feels today, then a rose clay mask, a cool jade stone massage along the jaw and brow, and a soft layer of botanical oil to finish. While the mask rests, she massages your hands and arms. There are no machines and no harsh peels, only good ingredients and careful touch. Most guests leave looking rested and a little glowing, which is exactly the point.
my shoulders finally let go
Rafael found knots I had carried since spring.

Skin that looks rested
Most of the change you see after a facial comes from rest, warmth and careful touch, so that is what we focus on. Mei spends real time on the massage, lets the mask sit while your hands are cared for, and never rushes the final steps. You leave with calm, soft skin and a short list of simple habits for home.
Facials are held in our quietest room, at the end of the garden path, with a window onto the ferns. If you are staying with us, book one on your second morning, after a night of good sleep and a slow breakfast.
Ask about timesWhat sets the botanical facial apart
Rose clay mask
Soft pink clay mixed with warm spring water. It is gentle enough for most skin and leaves the face feeling clean, not tight.
Jade massage
Cool jade stones glide along the jaw, brow and neck to ease the tension most of us carry without noticing.
Hand and arm ritual
While the mask rests, your hands and arms are massaged with warm oil. Many guests say this is their favourite part.
Questions about the botanical facial
Yes. Mei adjusts every step to your skin on the day, and we keep all products fragrance light and simple.
There is no need. The cleanse removes everything gently.
We suggest soaking before rather than after, so the oils can settle in and your skin stays calm.
A few favourites are available at the front desk, and we will write down your routine if you would like it.
Very rarely. There are no peels or machines in this facial, so most guests leave with calm, even skin that looks rested rather than red.
We suggest leaving your skin bare until evening so the oils can settle in. If you have plans that evening, a little mineral powder is fine.
Yes, with a few small changes. Mention it at booking and Mei will choose the gentlest products and set up the table so you are comfortable.
Mei asks a few simple questions about how your skin feels, what you use at home and anything that irritates it. It takes five minutes and shapes every step that follows.
Yes. A 50 minute massage followed by the botanical facial makes a lovely two hour visit, and it includes time on the thermal circuit before or after.
Many retreat guests book one with each seasonal stay, and local regulars tend to come back about once a month. Mei will suggest a rhythm that suits your skin and your visits.
Of course. The botanical facial suits every skin, and many of our regular guests are men who come for the hand and arm ritual as much as the mask.
