Salt glow scrub
A full body scrub of coarse salt gathered from the spring beds, blended with warm almond oil and a little dried rosemary from our garden. Your therapist works it over the skin in slow circles, from the feet up to the shoulders, then leaves you under a warm rain shower to rinse. We finish with a light layer of oil pressed in by hand, so the skin feels smooth rather than stripped. It is a lovely start to a stay, a good partner to the steam hall, and the treatment guests book most before a special evening.

Salt, oil and a warm rinse
We keep the recipe short so it suits almost everyone: salt, oil and herbs, with no added fragrance. If your skin is sensitive, we swap the salt for fine sugar and use a softer touch. Book your scrub after twenty minutes of steam and the skin will be warm and ready, which makes the whole thing gentler and the finish noticeably softer.
Because the scrub leaves skin so soft, many guests pair it with a special evening, a trip away or simply the start of a new season. It takes fifty minutes, and you leave the room with warm, smooth skin and a faint scent of rosemary.
Ask about timesQuestions about the salt glow scrub
Not on healthy skin. Please avoid shaving on the day of your scrub, and tell us about any cuts or sensitive areas so we can work around them.
Yes. We can use fine sugar in place of salt and a lighter touch. Mention it when you book.
You will be draped with a towel throughout, and disposable underwear is provided. Your therapist uncovers only the area being scrubbed.
There is no need. The oil is light and soaks in, so we suggest leaving it overnight.
The scrub itself is worked in with slow, massage like strokes, and the oil at the end is pressed in by hand. For a full massage, book the salt glow and massage pairing.
Soft, loose clothing is best. The oil soaks in quickly, but lighter fabrics feel lovely against freshly scrubbed skin until bedtime.
Yes, many guests book it a day or two before a wedding or holiday. Allow a full day between the scrub and any waxing or tanning so your skin stays calm.
Gift cards can be written for the salt glow on its own or with a massage. Call the front desk, and we will post a card or email one the same day.
Once a season is plenty for most people. If you visit more often, alternate the scrub with the mud ritual or a massage.
We suggest waiting an hour so the oil can settle in. The steam hall beforehand and the quiet room afterward are the best pairing.
What sets the salt glow scrub apart
Spring salt
The salt comes from the spring beds below the terrace, where it dries in the sun before we crush it into coarse crystals.
Warm almond oil
Warm almond oil is blended with rosemary from the kitchen garden each morning, so the scrub glides rather than drags.
Rain shower rinse
A warm private shower follows the scrub, with soft linen towels and a little more oil pressed in by hand.
