Anjali Mehta joined Willowmere in 2020 after six years planning programs for a county parks department. She brought the parks habit of asking people what they want before printing a schedule, and the calendar has grown every year since.
Each month she plans more than a hundred activities across the community, from watercolour classes and garden club to bus trips to the farmers market and Monticello. Every program is adapted so residents with mobility needs or memory loss can join in.
She also runs the volunteer program, pairing college students and local musicians with residents for weekly visits and Friday concerts.
