On 22 acres in Charlottesville, Willowmere offers apartments, state-licensed assisted living, memory care and short stays.
Residents keep their own routines, their own furniture and, often, their own cats. Our care team steps in wherever a routine has become harder, the kitchen cooks three meals from scratch, and the calendar runs from watercolour class to bluegrass on the porch. When needs change, residents change levels of care here, without starting over somewhere new.
Meet the Willowmere TeamCare services follow each resident's written care plan.
From an independent apartment to memory care support, residents can change levels of care without leaving the friends and staff they know.

A nurse meets with each new resident and their family, writes down the help needed and the routines that matter, and reviews the plan every season, or sooner when something changes.
Assisted living and memory care have trained staff awake and on site through every night, not on call from somewhere else, and a nurse is always reachable.
Families get a call after the first night, weekly check-ins during the first month and a named staff contact after that, who answers the phone by name.
Chef Thomas Ashby's kitchen cooks every meal on campus, with soft-texture, low-sodium and diabetic-friendly versions of the menu, and a tasting table every Thursday.
Wake-up times, shower days, meal seats and activities follow the resident's habits. We plan the staff schedule around them, not the other way round, all year.
Monthly rates, care levels and what each one includes are written down before move-in, and any change is explained ahead of time, in a letter and in person.
