Twelve years,one corner,the same faces.

Emberwick is an independent practice owned by the doctor who opened it. No chain, no quotas, no rush. Just a small team who would rather know your pet well than see more of them.

Why we work this way

A practice built around time

Most vet visits are fifteen minutes long. Ours are forty, because a nervous dog cannot be hurried and a good question deserves a full answer.

Dr. Mercer opened Emberwick after years of watching visits get shorter. The idea was simple: fewer appointments a day, the same doctor every time, and a written plan that says what we found and what it costs. Twelve years on, the idea has not changed. The building has: we took over the corner shop next door for a cat-only room in 2021.

Our team

Six people who will know your pet.

Three doctors, two technicians and the person who answers the phone. Credentials are plain: every doctor here is a licensed veterinarian.

What we promise

Five things you can hold us to.

If we ever fall short of one of these, tell Tasha or Dr. Mercer directly. We would rather hear it.

What your first visit looks like
  1. 01

    Fewer visits, longer ones

We book about two thirds of what a typical clinic books in a day. The time goes to your pet and your questions.

  2. 02

    Prices before procedures

Every visit starts with a known exam fee. Anything else is written down, priced and agreed first.

  3. 03

    The same people

One doctor stays on your file. The technicians and Tasha know your pet by name, and by their favorite treat.

  4. 04

    Dogs here, cats there

Separate waiting spaces, a cat-only exam room and a quiet side door for dogs who find the lobby too much.

  5. 05

    Honest referrals

When a pet needs a surgeon, a cardiologist or the emergency hospital, we say so, and we stay in touch.

Juniper hates the car, the carrier and strangers. She left her exam purring, and I left knowing exactly what we were watching for.

Dana K.with Juniper, a 12-year-old tabby

They called back within the hour, saw Moose that afternoon and talked me through the cost before anything started.

Marcus T.with Moose, a boxer mix

Our first puppy visit felt like a class we actually wanted to attend. We went home with a plan, not a pile of handouts.

Elena P.with Pickle, a doodle puppy

Dr. Mercer sat on the floor with our old lab for the whole exam. Nobody rushed us, and the plan made sense to both of us.

Walt A.with Bear, a 13-year-old lab

Every option came with a price and a reason. I never felt pushed toward the expensive one.

Rosa D.with Tico, a doodle mix

Hana warmed the stethoscope before it touched our cat. You notice that kind of care, and so does the cat.
