When to find Julian
- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays
Julian came to veterinary medicine after four years teaching high school chemistry, which explains why he likes to show owners the numbers on a blood panel and walk through what each one means. He worked at a shelter clinic in Norfolk before moving to Richmond.
At Wrenfold he has a particular focus on dentistry and on making visits easier for nervous cats: towel wraps, quiet rooms, treats from home and, when it helps, a calming medication plan sent home before the next appointment.
He lives in the Fan with his partner, a toddler and two very opinionated cats named Basil and Tuesday.

How our team works
A technician reads your pet's chart before you arrive, so you are not asked the same questions twice.
Doctors share a weekly case round, so a second set of eyes looks at anything that is not improving.
One named person follows up after surgery, sick visits and new medications, by phone or text, your choice.
Staff train together every month on handling, pain scoring and anesthesia monitoring.

A carrier routine that makes the vet visit calmer
Leave it out, make it smell like home and cover it in the car. A week of practice changes the whole visit.
Brushing a puppy's teeth in thirty seconds a night
Start early, keep it short and stop while your puppy is still happy. Here is the routine we teach at puppy visits.
Book a visit for your pet
Share your pet's name and why you would like to come in, and the front desk will offer the next opening that suits you.
