Thirty-minute exams for Richmond's dogs and cats, from first puppy shots to dental care, surgery and same-day sick visits. Time to examine your pet properly, and time for every question you bring.
Since 2008, Wrenfold has looked after Richmond's dogs and cats from their first boosters to their gray-muzzled years.
We are an independent general practice with six exam rooms, an in-house lab and digital X-ray under one roof. Standard visits are booked for thirty minutes, so there is time to examine your pet properly and answer the questions you wrote on the back of a receipt. Most of our team has been here for years, which means the person who meets your pet at the door often already knows its name.
Meet Our TeamDaytime general practice. After hours, the recorded message on our main number names the closest emergency hospital.
From a first puppy exam to dental X-rays and same-day sick visits, most of what your pet needs happens in our building, with people who know its history.

Standard visits are booked for half an hour, so there is room to examine your pet properly, talk through what we find and still get to every question you wrote down on the way in.
Results and plans are explained in everyday language, never in chart shorthand, and a written summary reaches your inbox the same day so nothing depends on remembering it all at the desk.
Procedures come with a written estimate showing a low and a high number. If anything changes once your pet is with us, we call you before going past the high figure.
A cat-only exam room, treats in every pocket, towels from home welcome and handling that keeps stress down. Nervous dogs can wait in the car until a room is ready.
Time is held every day for pets who are unwell, including new clients. When another place is the better call, such as an emergency hospital at night, we tell you straight away.
A named person follows up by phone or text after surgery, sick visits and new medications, so questions that come up at home have a place to go and a person to answer.
Covers the full run of puppy boosters, a spay or neuter consult, parasite prevention checks and unlimited nurse questions through the first year.

Before any procedure you receive a written estimate with a low and a high figure, and we call before going past the high one.
Every patient under anesthesia has a technician beside it from the first breath of gas until it is sitting up in recovery.
If your pet is sick during open hours, we hold time each day to see it the same day, even if you are new to us.
When we are closed, the phone line tells you exactly which emergency hospital to call and sends them your pet's records.

Leave it out, make it smell like home and cover it in the car. A week of practice changes the whole visit.
Start early, keep it short and stop while your puppy is still happy. Here is the routine we teach at puppy visits.
Share your pet's name and why you would like to come in, and the front desk will offer the next opening that suits you.
