Insurance and financing

The cost conversation happens before treatment

We work with most PPO plans and file your claims. Anything beyond routine care comes with a written, itemized quote before it is booked, and CareCredit is there when you would rather pay monthly.

How your PPO benefits work here

Most plans cover preventive care generously, restorative care partly and cosmetic care rarely, and every plan draws those lines differently. So we check yours instead of quoting a general percentage.

  1. 01

    Send your plan details

Call or bring your card to the first visit. Member ID, group number and the subscriber's date of birth are usually all we need.

  2. 02

    We verify and estimate

The front desk checks your benefits, deductible and annual maximum, then puts your share in a written quote before treatment.

  3. 03

    We file the claim

We submit the claim to your insurer after the visit, so you are not chasing paperwork. If your plan pays a different amount than it estimated, we explain the difference before you are billed.

CareCredit

Spread larger treatment into monthly payments

CareCredit is a healthcare credit card accepted at Custerpoint Family Dental. It is the only financing partner we work with, and it is often used for implants, crowns, Invisalign and full-mouth plans.

  1. Apply at the front desk or online. Approval is subject to CareCredit's credit review.
  2. Choose a plan from the promotional options CareCredit offers at the time. Terms are set by CareCredit, not by us.
  3. Pay monthly to CareCredit while your treatment goes ahead on schedule.

The front desk can explain how it works and what applying involves, with no pressure to use it.

No insurance?

Plenty of our patients have no dental plan at all

Nothing about your care changes. You get the same exam, the same scans on the screen and the same written, itemized quote before treatment.

When a plan is large, we phase it. Some treatment can be spread across months without risk, and we will tell you when waiting is safe and when it would cost you a tooth.

Prevention is the least expensive dentistry there is. Two cleanings, an exam and X-rays when they are due cost a fraction of the crown that replaces a cracked tooth. See cleanings and preventive care.

Cost

Why we quote after an exam, not on a menu

Two patients can ask for the same treatment and need very different work. A number that ignores that is a guess, and guesses are how surprise invoices happen.

What moves the number

  1. How many teeth are involved, and what each one needs
  2. Whether anything must happen first, such as gum treatment or an extraction
  3. The imaging and planning your case requires
  4. The material chosen for a crown, veneer or denture
  5. What your insurance plan pays, and how much of your annual maximum is left

You get a written, itemized quote that lists every stage, before anything is booked.

If the plan needs to change along the way, we explain why and update the quote first.

Yes. For anything beyond a routine visit you get a written, itemized quote that reflects your benefits, and we go through it with you before the appointment is booked.
Nothing about your care changes. You still get the written quote up front, treatment can be phased so it lands in manageable steps, and CareCredit is available if you want to spread payments.
Mostly because they include different things. One quote may cover imaging, the lab work and follow-up visits, while another lists only the procedure. Ask what each quote includes before you compare numbers.
No. The right number depends on your mouth and your plan, so we give you a written, itemized quote after an exam instead of a menu price that may not apply to you.
